A small amount of storage
Cookies are small pieces of information stored by a website or service in your browser. Similar technologies include session storage. This notice describes their use on this portfolio, including video players you choose to load.
The site owner has not enabled advertising pixels or audience-analytics integrations. Hosting and security providers still receive technical requests when you browse, and video providers receive information when you load their players.
When you play a film
The main embedded film players are loaded on demand. Until you choose Play, their cover images and local preview clips can be viewed without loading the third-party player.
Vimeo. Embeds use dnt=1 to disable Vimeo’s session analytics. Essential player-security cookies may still be used. Vimeo also explains that cookies already on your browser from earlier visits may be sent back to it. Its current player-cookie list gives their purposes and durations.
YouTube. Where embedded, the player uses youtube-nocookie.com. Privacy-enhanced mode reduces personalisation, but playback can still involve storage and data processing by Google. See Google’s cookie information and Privacy Policy.
Instagram.Hosted interviews on the Speaking page load only when you choose “Load Instagram player”. Loading the player connects to Instagram / Meta, which receives technical information and may use cookies or other storage under its own Privacy Policy. You can use the direct Instagram link instead. Closing the interview removes the embedded player; it does not clear cookies already stored by Instagram.
These are optional viewing services. You can leave a player unloaded and use the separate film link where one is available.
Your controls
You can browse the portfolio without playing embedded films. Use Close player to remove an active player, or leave or reload the page. Loading it again is a fresh choice. Your browser’s privacy controls let you block third-party cookies, clear stored information or restrict storage; some playback features may then be unavailable.
Closing a player does not erase information a provider has already received. Its privacy settings and policies explain the controls it offers. Where storage requires consent, it must be explained and agreed before it is used; simply browsing is not consent.
