Who is responsible
This is the portfolio of Souvid “JIJO” Datta, who is responsible for personal information handled through this site and enquiries sent directly to him. For privacy questions or requests, email jijo@justbenice.tv.
Production-company enquiries may be handled by Just Be Nice Studios. If an enquiry becomes a commission or collaboration, any additional arrangements will be explained in that context.
What is collected and why
Enquiries. If you email, the information you choose to send—such as your name, contact details, organisation and message—is used to respond and discuss potential work. You do not have to contact me, but I may be unable to answer an enquiry without the relevant details.
The legal basis is legitimate interests in responding to professional enquiries and managing working relationships; where you ask for steps towards a contract, it may instead be necessary to take those steps. Records may also be kept where a legal obligation applies.
Browsing. Webflow hosts this site. Webflow, delivery providers and services that supply fonts or media receive technical information such as IP address, browser details, requested files and request times to deliver content, maintain security and diagnose faults. The basis for operating and securing this portfolio is legitimate interests.
This site has no visitor accounts, checkout or newsletter sign-up. Sending an enquiry does not subscribe you to a mailing list. Advertising pixels and audience-analytics integrations are not enabled by the site owner.
Hosting, fonts and films
Service providers used for hosting, content delivery and email may process information to provide their services. Fonts may load from Google Fonts, which receives the technical information needed to fulfil those requests.
Some films play through Vimeo or YouTube. Loading a player shares information with that provider, including your IP address and the page you are viewing. The main film players load when you choose Play. Vimeo uses its Do Not Track option and YouTube uses privacy-enhanced embeds where supported. These settings reduce tracking; they do not make playback anonymous or guarantee that no cookies are used. See the Cookies notice.
Hosted interviews on the Speaking page can also play through Instagram. Its player loads only when you choose “Load Instagram player”, connecting your browser to Instagram / Meta, which receives technical information and may use cookies under its own Privacy Policy. You can leave the player unloaded and follow the direct Instagram link instead.
Links to social profiles and other websites take you to services with their own privacy practices. Their notices apply to information they handle independently.
How long information is kept
Enquiry correspondence is kept while it is useful for the discussion or a continuing professional relationship. Retention also depends on whether a record is needed for an agreement, accounting, a legal requirement or resolving a dispute. Information is not needed indefinitely simply because someone once made contact.
Hosting and video providers set retention periods for the technical records they control; their notices explain these. Short-lived browser storage used by this site is described in the Cookies notice.
Processing outside the UK
Providers may process information outside the UK, including in the United States. Webflow describes its safeguards in its Data Processing Addendum, including recognised data-transfer frameworks and contractual safeguards where applicable. You can ask for further information about transfers relating to your enquiry.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access or correct your personal information, request deletion or restriction, and request a portable copy where that right applies.
You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Email jijo@justbenice.tv to raise an objection or exercise your rights. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it; this does not change the lawfulness of earlier processing.
You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. You are welcome to contact me first, but you do not have to do so.
About this notice
This notice covers portfolio browsing and enquiries, rather than every activity involved in making a film. Project-specific information may be provided separately. Any changes to this notice will appear here with an updated date.
