Speaking

What we choose to keep human.

I speak about creativity as survival, and trust in an age of technological upheaval. My talks draw on fifteen years in filmmaking, investigations and brand design, alongside my work with scientist-founders as Creative Director at Fifty Years.

I use films, interactive exercises and first-hand stories to make these questions tangible, whether I’m with a small group of founders, on stage at a creative conference or working with a team.

I also host panels, creator Q&As and live interviews. I like getting past the prepared answer - following a thought, asking the deeper question, and making room for something unexpected and personal.

01

The Cost of a Perfect Story

A personal talk about our appetite for a more perfect reality, what happens when trust breaks, and the human moments we must learn to protect.

02

Making the future feel human

How to find the human story inside a complex idea. Drawing on my work at Fifty Years, I explore how to give frontier science, AI and deep tech a human face, so people can understand what a breakthrough could mean for their own lives.

03

Creativity after automation

What happens to authorship and creative judgement as more of the making becomes automated? A conversation about how we use these tools, what we take responsibility for, and where we choose to put our attention. I also share examples of tools designed to strengthen and protect human creativity.

04

Your story of self

A practical workshop for founders and creative teams on finding the experiences that explain why you care, and shaping them into a story you can tell — for recruiting, sales and introductions — without losing what makes you you.

Hosted by JIJO

In conversation.

Two interview series I hosted in 2020, with filmmakers, artists and activists whose work I admire. Conversations about how we make things, what gets in the way, and why we keep going.
